Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan by far was the
most famous and Internationally recognised
musician that Pakistan has ever produced.
Considered by many as having the most
beautiful singing voices in the world,
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
gained recognition in the West after
collaborating with popular rock musicians
like Peter Gabriel and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan took Islamic music to an unbelievably wide international audience. He did so with an unrepentantly traditionalist's heart and the intense soul of an improvising genius. Nusrat Fateh Ali passed away August 16, 1997 at 11:57 a.m. GST in London, England.
"When I sing for God, I feel myself in
accord with God, and the house of God,
